The Likatians are convinced that neither the past lies behind us, nor the future lies inaccessible before us. Past, present and future flow into each other and permeate each other. Consequently, the Likatier do not regard the ancestors as something dead. Rather, there are many ways to encounter ancestors and deceased relatives, whether in dreams, feelings and thoughts or in other ways, for example in altered states of consciousness (trances). Some of the likatic children can also see them and sometimes talk to them. One of the concerns of the Likatier is to experience the ancestors as comprehensible as possible. Therefore we try to explore their life and history, visit places where they have lived and celebrate their birthdays, wedding anniversaries, days of death and other known events.
